how-to (smooth impact-strip)

to fill the seams, i:

- used the Euro-filler-panel as an armature

- filled the backing of the Euro-filler-panel with high-tensile 3M filler and STRONG epoxy glue

- sanded, surface-prepared, primed, and painted the result

the picture will be clearly/obviously labeled when i post it

thank you for your inquiry,

Look at this Car-tease post some pics soon...

?, Did you smoothen the impact to the actual bumper?/or did you smoothen out the impact strip & the license place cover?

Greetings,
Albert S.

Just out of curiosity - why just the front?

Do you intend to also do the rear bumper / impact strip?

LOL Thats PHAT, can't wait to see what it looks like cuz I had planned on doing it to, but ppl told me It wouldn't last, cuz, where the impact strip & bumper meet, it will crack....but IM wondering how you got it to work? very interesting though.

PS...While you're at it, why don't you add those headlamp sprays that pop out of the bumper.

clarification

The 500E (W124) rear impact-strip has no license-plate indentation; it is already a straight/smooth blade.

Oh, I think I may have misunderstood what you've done. I thought you filled the whole seam between the entire impact strip and the bumper.

Am I correct in understanding that you've just filled-in the seam between the license plate filler plate where it attaches to the impact strip, and therefore prevents you fron attaching a front license plate?

Hay Paul. Where did you get the chrome surrounding from? and how much if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks,
Albert S.

clarification (#2)

Paul S. -

you are correct: i only smoothed the impact-strip (not the whole front bumper) so that it is a single, continuous piece.

i was/am; the impact-strip is just the thin blade that snaps into the front bumper-cover.
