Beating the Speed Camera!

It's easy. British TV program "Top Gear" aired at the weekend. They had already failed in an earlier show to beat the camera by driving past it as fast as poss. Didn't work...until they tried a TVR Tuscanette. At 171mph the camera didn't pick it up.

Actually in the UK, and most of Europe for that matter, not only do they have red light cameras like we do but they also actually have speed cameras:eek:  If you go by over a certain speed you'll get a ticket in the mail.

A proven solution for these types of situations is to purchase a license plate cover for each of your plates. This is not an ordinary cover, looking straight on, visability is fine, but at a angle you can not read the plate. Since these photo radars take pictures at a angle, the people looking at the pictures will not be able to make out your plate number.

Police here have been making people take these license plate covers off of there cars for this reason.

Well, in Washington state, its illegal to change the color of your license plate, so its illegal to put a colored or tinted cover on your plate but clear plates are not illegal.

In my town, someone put the rumour about that hanging a CD from the inside driving mirror would "reflect" the nasty camera rays. Surprise, surprise, now hundreds of the 'sporty' Nissan Sunnys, Honda Civics and Toyota Corollas now sport shiny old CD's hanging from the mirrors . . . . Dorks !
