Euro Lights - Choices?

I'd like to install the Euro Light kit on my '86 300E, the one that includes the in-dash 4-position headlight adjuster. What are my choices of suppliers for the complete kit other than my friendly local MB Dealer. Do any of the OEM suppliers sell the complete kit? Any idea on prices?

I've already done a search, but didn't find much useful info in this regard.

Thanks for any help.

124 680 21 65 euro headlight switch panel for cars with telescoping wheel about $ 20.00 *

124 680 16 65 same as above but for cars WITHOUT telescoping wheel

124 800 06 73 euro rosette/dial about $50.00 at parts shop
this dial illumnates. the real thing, buy this one *

000 800 04 73 rosette/dial, will do the job. does not have anyway to illuminate. uses u.s. switch panel, only average performance.

these are available from phil at parts shop

keep "searching" info on suppliers it's there. check my posts if you would like. the BEST quality is oem, period.

Whazzat do?

Hey, I never heard of that accessory before. What's the in dash adjuster do, anyway (please don't tell me it adjusts the lights.. I kind of guessed that part.)

It's probably not available/legal here in the US, which makes me want one too!:D

What is the purpose of this? Weather adjustments?

beam adjuster

gil

it will raise or lower the headlights in about 2"-3" increments.

it is awesome.

it is used for various loads, from extra passengers to a full trunk.

it is vacuum controlled.

it is [was] very hard to find, and yes it is not legal. mine is for "off road use only"

check out this article. [ignore his part numbers!]

Seems pretty cool.. can't you just order the parts needed from a dealer outside the USA?

Doh!

Didn't see your previous post... thanks for the reminder.

Oh, well, those won't work on my car anyway, but they're still cool nonetheless.

Do they still offer this option on new benzes sold outside the USA?

ebenzz,

What did you use as a vacuum source? The gas models simply T off the Ecomony Gauge, but the diesels don't have one. Also, I ordered the Euro switch panel for the 126 from PartsShop, but Phil sent me the rosette/dial w/ part # 000 800 04 73. Is the only difference simply the illuminated dial from the one you recommend? Thanks.

I have a complete write up on this install. Visit my web page for ideas (my install was on a 190)

Okay. I've done about all the research I can handle for the beam adjuster, but I am still uncertain as to the correct part #'s for the euro switch panel and the rosette dial for a 126. The originals that were sent to me from Phil at PartsShop included the 000 rosette dial the Peter recommends staying away from. I ordered the proper one (124 #) and this one will not work with my switch panel. Phil, and a couple other sources, indicate that there is only one euro switch panel available for the 126. 2phast appears to have used the same rosette dial in his application. Can any 126 owners confirm?

I will take a photo in the next few hours and post them here if no one else hasn't already done so.

Cheers
Matt.

do you also have the new 126 680 03 65 switch panel or are you using your u.s. one [cutting out the hole from backside]??

anyway i e-mailed mattman and he's going to post a pic of his set-up. we'll have to look at it 'in a mirror' because he has RHD.
he hails from 'the land down under'.

thanks matt!

Here we go, hope this helps.

I think it looks like Peter is partially correct. My adjuster numbers are not illuminated, when the lights are on all the other numbers/symbols are backlit but the adjustment points are not.

It's actually a bit redundant on cars with self levelling. I always have mine on 0.

I have just got together a relay and wiring kit and some 100/130w H4 bulbs to go into my Euro housings. Should provide a reasonable amount of light and if they are too strong I can angle them down a bit.

Matt.

Thanks, Matt. This is helpful.
