A while back, Mike Curcio posted the same question. However, because of an MB failure to show up with a 55, I believe the question was not fully answered.

So, I a curious: has anyone had the opportunity to pit a vernerable 124 agains the 210 lately. I would like to know how they compare.

Ill try to sneak in a test drive of an E55 this weekend and wring it out a little. Will report back.

Any thoughts/ experiences on relative performance?

I've driven several E55s so far, and they are very quick-I think one that's running right will take a 500E in outright acceleration, but not by a huge margin (I guesstimate a car length or 2 in the 1/4 mile)

I will try to arrange a head-to-head accel run - my dealer has a car, I just need to find the time to run him!

My friend raced a 00' M5 with his 500E (w/ KNN's, Neils' Chip). they reaced untill 150mph...his car was a little more than a car length not bad for a 93' car hu...automatic vs 5 speed, approx. 1 1/2 cars away or less...
