Talking Renntech Mercedes 400E 6.0

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1872702021

Check this bad boy out!!!

a 600E!!

Damn... must be an awesome sleeper. I'd so put some 300E badges on the trunk. Maybe put a 6.0 and let those non-believers try hehehe..

I'd lose the smoked tail lights though (don't look right on the white caR)

Hello, this place is about thirty minutes from where I live, if there's any member of the forum that's interested in this car, I wouldn't mind going to look it over for you. Just let me know.

I wonder if they are going to replace the tires for whoever they sell it to.

Predictions?

Let's make predictions on what price this car will yield 6 days from now when the auction closes.

My guess: $15,000.

I don't think reserve will be met. Heck for $15K, I would buy it and swap the motor and running gear into my E500!

Yet another reason to love a white Mercedes....even though it doesn't have seat heaters!

Think I'll wait and see if it goes, if not I'll contact them about a trade for both my 1993 400E and my 1988 300CE together. Since I'm only about four hours away would be easy to take a day and go check it out for myself. Good stablemate to my 190/5.6!!

Vanakin,

Let me know if you go to look at this car. I'll meet you up there (this place is 5 minutes from my office in Roswell).

Tobias,

You are a banshee! You definitely have high octane running in your blood!

Talking With all that torque...

Steve,
Was thinking I could put the Surburban to pasture and use this to take my 190 to track events. Shouldn't have trouble keeping with the flow on the highway and the mileage would probably be better!

I'll let you know if I go see the car which should be badged as e600 or 600e, just my little joke.

Vanakin,

LOL

Your sig says 'Will sell kid for E500 limited'.

This reminds me of a vanity plate I saw here in Atlanta 6 or 7 years ago on....you guessed it.....a pristine white 500E.

The tag read 'NOKIDS'

Steve

p.s. I was born in D.C. and lived there 16 years in Annandale till '82. Family moved to Denver, then I moved 'back East'. I've lived here in Atlanta since '89. Think I'll stay

Not sold at $15,500

The jury has come back. Mods are lousy "investments."

Do it because you love it.

Very tough to get your money back on this stuff - and why did the guy do a 400? Sure it's a great sleeper, but it lacks all the reinforcement that a 500 has in order to handle all the power, so if the guy drove it spiritedly it's probably quite loose feeling.

As I understand, the guy wants $25k - never gonna get it, ever. If I could buy it for, say, $14-15k, I'd do an engine swap with my 500E and sell it for market - everybody wins!

That car's a tough sell, just thinking about the maintanance and repair scares me off. I wonder if it's still up there
