Just saw this tonight while surfing...FYI
1993 Mercedes-Benz 500E Sedan $15995 http://autotrader.com/findacar/vdetail.jtmpl?car_id=115677258&dealer_id=572102&make=MB&distance=any&max_price=&model=500E&advcd_on= n&end_year=1995&min_price=&certified=n&address=98092&search_type=used&advanced=n&start_year=1992&col or=&car_year=1993 |
That seems to be a really good price for a 500E. I would be careful about cars from Salt Lake, though - many of them have quite a bit of corrosion underneath.
Think about it "Salt Lake". I'm sorry I did not wait untilk the end of the year to buy mine - I would have liked to pay a bit more off on prior loan; also, the prices do seeem to be dropping. Tom 92 500E |
The wheels are too narrow (7.5-inches) and the tire size is wrong. The 500E uses a tire diameter of 26-inches, this wheel & tire setup I'm 99% sure is a 25-inch diameter used for the rest of the W124's.
BTW- I have those wheels on my wagon! :-) neil 1988 360TE AMG 1993 500E |
Looks strange with skinny wheels, eh? Wonder how they got 'em to fit? Spacers?

. . . The rear fenders just don't quite look right for my money !

Hey Guys,
I have pics of this car after it was wrecked in an LA highway accident. Pics are about 1 1/2 yrs old. A guy tried to sell it on ebay at 15,500 WRECKED !!!!!!!!!!!! almost same price as FIXED Imagine that !!!!!!!!!!!!! hood and entire drivers side has been repaired. Entire car has been repainted. Supposedly, the drivetrain was not damaged. Mileage is not accurate either. NUFF SAID      |
Thanks E Dream for the info...Can you post the pic's?

Something was not making sense from the beginning, I though it was my imagination but one of the headlights looks brand new, while the other has the usual faded plastic bezel. One headlight wiper is black while the other is grey.
You don't need a six sense to find out something like that. Thanks ESVIC and E DREAM |
It's so interesting how every deal that's "too good to be true" usually is. You guys are so much sharper thn I am. I never would have gleaned so much info from the photo.

Thanks for exposing this Mongrel dog
I had wondered / worried that perhaps I had made a bad investment and purchased my own arguably pristine RED 93 500E to soon. Glad to find out that the price I paid was actually truer than this imposter would have lead me to beleive. See my www. for photos of " The Real Thing!"
