Question Full Tune Up! Help?

I need a tune up on my car really bad. My buddys shop will be doing it for me he's also going to do it for free.He doesnt have easy access to the parts I need so I have to hunt everything down. Right now my car has a 170K miles and a slipping tranny. The previous didn't take good care of the car at all.

Here's all the parts I think I need if I missing anything help me out ! Any suggestions or links would be nice also.

Bosch Distrubotor Rotor $28
Bosch Distributor Cap $65
Distributor Cap Gasket $5
Distributor Rotor Adptr....Not to sure which one I will need
Bosch Copper Spark Plugs $13
Bosch Ignition Wire Set $110
Oil Filter $5
Total Est. =$226

If your doing a full tune up you will definitely want to have the correcty fluids. I'd recommend:

1. MB Tranny Fluid

2. MB Coolant

If your buddy is doing the work for free you might want to try and narrow down the cause of the slipping tranny also and get that out of the way as well.

Thanks for all the help guys. I will give Phil a call since you guys recommended him. I should be ready to order my parts in about 2 weeks. My car is running horrible right now

when was the last time you changed your brake fluid?

it ALWAYS pays to do all the required maintenance. it is cheaper in the long run

I have been in and out of town and really haven't drove my car that much. When I do get my tune up soon im going to get everything checked out.

Yah that's what sucks about having an old car but I like it. I'm getting a new starter I plan on adding an Alarm w/Remote start
