Just a quick hello and to show some appreciation for all the excellent postings everyone had contributed.

Have been browsing all the positive comments about the E55 and finally decided to get one. Took delivery last Friday and I'm having this problem hiding that stupid smile on my face.

Happy motoring!
Eric

Eric-
Lots of luck with your beast. I've had mine for 3 months and I'm still smiling. The hardest part is prying the key out of my wifes hand! She's smiling too!

The wife doesn't like the E55 finding it too dangeriously fast so I just have to keep the car all to myself.

Just installed a V1 concealed display unit in the centre console bin, great setup with the V1 on the visor. Totally discrete.

Just curious if anyone has figured out how to shorten the night illumination time setting?

Eric,

I run a V1 too; when I had a tech question I e-mailed Valentine....Mike Valentine (or somebody claiming to be him that knew their poop)himself responded, and promptly

I can't get my wife out of the E55. It's actually her car since I already had my toy, the ZR-1. I planned on going to Pocono with the E, but she threatened to cut 'em off, so...the ZR-1 is going back on the road.
I'm going to drag her out to a road course soon-with a car like the E55, it's best to learn how to drive properly so you don't kill yourself or others.
The excellent part of the E55 is the both of us can go for a track event AND bring the kids along too! Thanks MB for bringing the racing family together!
As for the V1, its my unit of choice and I had 'em all, FUZZBUSTER, Superfox Remote, Escort and BEL.

Eric, do you have a photo or do you know where there is a photo of the V1 installed in the center console? I've only seen it specially installed inside the rear view mirror.

Thanks for the reply Mike - the night illumination is actually that MB feature I'm not too crazy about, attracting unnecessary attention from others as you lock up the car and walk away. "Hey there, you left your lights on..." Have you guys tried disabling that feature altogether?

The V1 has been great. Taison, the V1 main unit itself is mounted on the visor for best reception; only the concealed display unit is in the centre console.

When I plug in the V1 to the wire at the visor, the lights are automatically dimmed and all visual signals are channeled to the concealed display unit. When I'm driving on the road, it is next to impossible for others to know that I have a detector on.

If you guys want a picture of this setup, I can take a quick snap shot of it and upload it here if someone can tell me how?
