My owners manual shows 3 different length lug nuts. The stud length is the same for all 3 but the head length is different. A SHORT head for cars with steel wheels, a STANDARD head for all USA cars, and a LONG head for AMG wheels. My car has STANDARD lug nuts. When i got my 2nd set of wheels from Tire Rack - they came with standard nuts. I know it makes no difference as far as the wheel and hub is concerned - but i was curious if anybody's AMG car has lug nuts that are flush with the wheel face surface and not recessed about an inch?

The lugs that came on my C36 and on the set of 18" I bought from Tire Rack are also exactly the same. Just like yours, they are also recessed an inch or so.
