I have a 1995 C280 with mods listed below with a 3.55 differential. I want to make it accelerate faster. I heard putting a 3.9 or even 4.11 will make it fly. 0-60 will be sub 6 seconds or right at. Could beat all the regular Bmw 3's. Would you reccomend that or nitrous - which I heard I could get for around $1000. I just want to make the car faster but I don't have lots of money right now.

To get huge performance gains for under $1000 you will have to go NOS. You should be able to thrash the crap out of the bimwads using NOS. As long as this isn't a daily (or more!) event you should get decent longevity out of a canister. Its so easy to get more and more power out of NOS you have to be mindful of what the drivetrain will take.

Hope this helps...Lee

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the info - so you wouldn't reccomend redoing the differential. I thought I could get the ring and pinion gears from Bekkers to fit my stock differential. Well about the nitrous where can I get it done in the DFW area and exactly what does it entail, how it work if you don't mind explaining.

Thanks,
Troy

I don't know any places offhand but I'm sure an email to NOS (or another company should be able to direct you to a local distributor) Of course, if any other Shop Forum members know of a good speedshop in that area please speak up. You might also want to try and find your answer on the "Good MB Shops" forum.

Hope this helps...Lee

Hi guys...

I have a 97'E320 and I would like to make my car faster without touching the engine. Any suggestions? (No place to get NOS here)
