Although finacially the trip and event are not happening for Me this year, I was curious as to how many Mercedes fans will be attending the race?

Hakkinen and Coulthard should do well..., lets hope this new course will have some exciting places to pass as this seems to be F1's only down side.

Thank goodness Formula 1 is back in the US as American's love all types of racing and F1 is the pinnacle of Motor Sports (IMHO).

Personally, I think McLaren-Mercedes will kick butt! Should be interesting as a High versus Low down force set up is giving roughly the same lap times?

At least I can watch on FoxSport.

I'm winging it all the way from Dublin, Ireland for my first ever gp. Can't wait to hear 18,000bhp firing up at once. I have seats in the North West Vista, which looks great on paper. A week and a half to go .....

I would heartily recommend that anyone who has the chance to attend an F1 race, even one, DO IT (if only to appreciate what is considered the apex of automotive racing technology). I attended an F1 race for the first time this year in Montreal –– the cars literally sound like nothing that I have ever before. The sound is extremely loud and piercing –– not like stock car or muscle car loud, but a loudness that reflects 18K rpm. I had the feeling of being surrounded (while standing in a pedestrian area surrounded on three sides by race track) by ufos or something. The sounds has an eerieness to it. And, in the words of my girlfriend "what fun is this, these cars are so fast you can even see them...". We're talkin fast. If the Indy Grand Prix happens again next year, I'm there.

Maybe...

I've got a "possible" line on 2 tickets in Section-H. We'll see.

The last F1 GP I attended was in 1976 at Watkins Glen. James Hunt won the race and the championship that year. I got to see Mario Andretti, Niki Lauda and Emerson Fittipaldi. Oh yea, who could forget those 6-wheel Tyrrells driven by Jody Scheckter and Patrick Depailler. Beware the Bog People!

I would love to attend another F1

Guys,
I have one ticket for sale. Can be collected in Chicago from 9pm next Friday night. For a seat in the North West Vista, sitting beside five Irish blokes. Any takers???

I went to last years opener in Melbourne - it was awesome. I wasn't really into F1 then but loved the race just the same. The porsche cup race was great, the shifter Kart race was great, the drag car doing burnouts all over the track was awesome. And the motorcycle stunt guy was unreal.

The sound though of the F1 engines is something you have to experience. We went to the long strait during a practice (before beer) and stood at the place they achieve max speed before braking. With earplugs it was loud, without ear plugs it felt like my skull was vibrating. I watched the race, at an "S" bend with a jumbo screen in view, and a beer stand (you'd be surprised how much free beer you get as an american from ausie's - i found my limit to be 10 cups each day, then i needed lunch).

If you can go - you must. And bring money for T-shirts and Hats, and kid stuff cause you'll want it.

Damn i wish i could go next weekend.
