Wink How slow can you go

Can you make a 1983 240-D have more get-up and go, with out a lot of cost. I don't mind the work but I don't need to spend alot on this car right now.

LOL good one.

depends entirely on your budget. I recommend good maintence. other than that, don't buy a diesel.

If it has the high altitude adjustment turn that up as far as it will go. I imagine that you could turbo charge it but it would probably be cheaper to just find a used 300D Turbo engine but then again you still won't be setting any speed records. I do know that they turned the boost up on the 300D Turbo engine and produced ~200+ hp in the prototype vehicle where they set speed/efficiency record. I think it went around 200mph.
