I originally asked because I responded to an ad that listed the car as Diamond Black, a color I had never seen. Turns out the car is actually Black Pearl which I am familiar with.

I noticed that you haven't confirmed if your car is unrestricted in its top speed, just curious as you have not posted in the "Top Speed" post, you going to give us any good stories?

I really like your wheels... are they AMG? I'm assuming they are 17" 245/45/17 front/back. Thanks for sharing.

Those are the EVO II wheels, optional on '94 500E's in Europe. Std. in the Limited Edition model. 8.25x17". Beautiful wheels, I've got 'em on my car as well, the car feels much better with these than the stock wheel/tire combination. You can get them from Bekkers; they even come in the factory box.

Yes, those are the Evo II wheels in silver and the tires are Bridgestone Pole Position S-2's (great!) 245-45-17.

I did get my wheels from Bekkers. You can also buy from regular dealers. Be advised that two of my wheels arrived with the center cap hole not machined correctly but painted anyhow (defects?), and the centercap would not fit it. The tire shop pointed this out to me after mounting the tires. I had to go through 4 months of hell trying to get Bekkers to do something about it. I bought the wheels in June and just last week put on a set that would accept center caps, but the Bekkers saga is still not done since they still have to reimburse me for the last two wheels. Jos Bekkers treated me like a criminal and when I asked why he told me that 2 out of 10 people who order from them are criminals! Nice wheels, though. Just remember that dealers sell them, too.

I had no idea that they were not stock. I'm the second owner of this car so can't say. The previous owner put some nice additions including clear turn signals and smoked rear light covers. Maybe some othet 500Eowner can tell you????

the strips on the roof are factory I believe.

My 92 300CE has the same strips on the roof and they are not plastic.

Those window mouldings are all stock. They're just very faded. New they are black. Mine are the same. I plan on replacing them when I do the body over (500E style). Around the windshield,across the roof,backglass, and the rear door 1/4 glasses. I guess the fade tends to stick out on our darker colored cars. Doesn't in any way make it look bad though. Only a BENZ .
