Do 500E rear sway bar links fit on E320T
Hi,
Just wondering if 500E rear sway bar links will fit on my 124T before I go through the physical effort of finding out... thanks farrukh |
Yes they do.

I'll buy your old front sway bar off you if you swap that out too.
Thanks, Don |
I thought that the wagons had metal rear sway bar links
gsxr would know for sure. |
Yes, the W124 wagons have metal links that attach to the swaybar. The links will bolt up to the 500E rear swaybar with no modifications.

Neil,
Why do you suppose the TEs have metal links and not the 500? Are the nylon bits in the 500 superior somehow? |
I think Id rather have the plastic ones because I have seen them snap before, and Id rather those snap, then bend the sway bar. I would really like to know the reason behind the metal ones.

Don't know why, but we did try to upgrade the wagon's rear swaybar metal links (more expensive) to the 500E's plastic links, and it was a no go, because I didn't want to modify the lower control arm.
Both the dealer tech and my indy tech said stay with the metal ones, they don't snap like the plastic ones. Go figure. :-) neil |
Actually I thought the "hot" mod was to swap the metal wagon links onto a sedan in place of the palstic ones, to reduce flex and stiffen the overall bar rate. The sway bar would never bend due to a metal link, I think the weak point would be either the link itself or the mounting points. The 500E rear links are the same as on every other 124 sedan, btw, they are nothing special...
