New Blinkers for the W124

I ordered a set of clear corners from Germany and just put them on today. They are completely transparent and have a mirror reflective housing. The bulbs and plugs that came with them didn't fit the US model but I just used the ones from the factory housings. The only problem is that one has an orange bulb which ruins the look a bit. The bulbs I had ordered were clear but flashed yellow. Anyone know where I can get a set here? I'd post a picture, but I don't know how. Can anyone tell me how to download a digital picture to this forum.

I have pictures, but can't post them because I don't know how. They were about $80 shipped but would have been cheaper without the bulbs.

Got to your local Pep Boys and buy the silver mirrored colored bulbs. Or you can go to www.pepboys.com

What you are looking for is APC Titan Bulbs. Many places on the net sell them.

Hello, I got myself a pair of them too, but am waiting on Euro headlights before I install them. PLEASE do not waste your money on those gimmicky bulbs. Buy some STANDARD amber 1157 bulbs and some high temp silver paint. Spray them LIGHTLY so that the amber barely shows through. (it won't be noticeable when it's in the turn signal).

If you've done it right, the bulb will appear silver when off and flash amber when on. Make sure the silver coat isn't too heavy, or else you won't be able to see the amber flashing in the daytime.

They're called "klarglasblinker" in German but aren't actually glass. They don't seem built any better than my Made in Taiwan "frosted" clear turn signals, but the price is DEFINETELY inflated because it's a relatively new item.

Those are COOL! I wish I knew about them before I bought my Hella clears!

About the bulbs, would it not be possilbe to paint just one side (side facing out) of the bulb silver?

Please post pics after install!

No, I recommend painting the entire bulb. If you don't, the amber will still reflect within the housing when the bulb is off. Here's my tail light with amber bulbs:

I bought some 1156 bulbs from Autozone and painted them silver. But... problem is that the 1156 bulbs don't fit in place of my rear turn signal bulbs. The notches are angled differently.??

another problem is that I applied a lil too much paint that the light that came out was weird... :p

I tested them on my friend's W210.

Holson,
I bought the 1156 bulbs and just trimmed one of the notches and it fit perfect and works.

First off the bulbs are not gimmicky. Secondly why waste your time painting bulbs if you don't have to?

Just buy the APC Titan Bulbs or anyone's Titan bulbs. They only cost $5.99 and can be gotten for less on the net.

Time is very important (to me) and I cannot waste it painting bulbs when I can buy bulbs already done.
