You can adjust the modulator to shift hard/chrisply.
Watch out for wearing out the clutches. |

 FWIW: I tried 3.07, 3.27, and 2.87 gears on C36 powered wagon.
Best 0-60 mph runs: 3.27 Best 1/8-mile runs: 3.07/2.87 The 3.27 gave the worst times because it shifted right before the end of the 1/8-mile. The 2.87 could beat the 3.07 IF I held 2nd gear to a 7000RPM redline (my C36's rev-limitter is at 7000 RPM). The 3.07 is the best compromise leaning towards performance, while the 2.87 is the best compromise leaning towards relaxed highway cruising. :-) neil PS: When are you going to update this thread to show your E320 stuffed into the 190E? PSS: Install the 5-speed manual tranny that came with some 190E 2.6's. . . |

 Interesting, thanks for the results!

Wow, it looks like the 3.07's take thae cake. I'm putting a turbo intercooled on my car and I think that the 3.27:1's are going to throw to much power to the wheels so they'll spin way to much. Not only that, I don't have poxy or limited slip so only ONE tire is spinning. I'm going to have to get some limited slip so I can get grip. Wow, I rhymed, any ways... I think I'll buy 3.07 limited slip so my top end will be higher then with the 3.27:1's. I don't need the 3.27's any ways cause no matter what the tires will brake loose even with 2:65's! Actually, if I could find a 3.27:1 worm gear, then that would be insane and I'll have so much traction it will be ridiculous. OmegaBenz has one and I want to buy it from him, but he wants to put it in the AMG Hammer.
My website is now actually being worked on since I'm not to lazy anoymore with it. There are already updated photos in the Car section at the bottom, but soon it will be easier to navigate through the site. I'll be putting more picture of the car and project soon, so keep checking up! |

Austin- when are you going to unleash more info and photos about your W124 AMG Hammer . . .

 Hey Neil,
Rolexbenz190E is my friend, he's at my house right now. I posted under his name once and him on mine twice. Sorry for the confusion, I talked about the tranny only. I have a lot of real pictures because I have a really nice SLR camera, but I dont have a scanner, and my digital camera broke. But maybe some day. Right now Im trying to figure out how to adjust the valves. What a nightmare! |

Hey, you can see updated photos at This Page I'll have engine photos and such up when I scan them which is right now. But I wont upload them till I have enough time to compress them.

 Hoax?

Where's the motor?? All I see is a lowered 190 with some rims.......Tell me this ain't a hoax. (if I only had a dollar for every guy I knew who was gonna turbo this or supercharge or swap in whatever motor.........blah blah blah...)
	Let's see it! :D |

I'm sure he'll post pictures as fast as he can... My cousin-in-law built the car, I assure you it exists. Its the second time he's built a 190E 3.2. He also built my old 190E 3.8L (V8). A 190E 5.6L is in future plans. As far as his 1/4 mile trap speed of 110mph on his website, that may be a little exaggerated, considering a new M3 runs it in 13.3 @ 107mph. Maybe more like 99-100mph. Have you actually tracked your car yet Rolex, or are these estimates or the infamous G-tech results?

Rolexbenz's 190E 3.2 was/is faster than the 190E 3.8 I feel. Ive been in both. I think the 110 trap speed is too high.
He's got the motor 2.6L, dont worry. When are you going to do an engine swap? |

 EuroCoupe:
will you cousin make a 5.6L W124 wagon? can you post his contact info? I'm sure we can all send him some business . . . :-) neil 1988 360TE AMG 1993 500E |

 Speaking of SuperWagens....

I was thinking of a 500TE myself with a twin cam 5.0 out of a 500e/S500, but you know, the 560TE could be pretty cool too.
