C36 AMG advice
Hey Guys, this is Austin's little brother Ian,
I have been thinking about getting a C36 for my first AMG. I have been looking into it, and I have found a couple differences between the US years '95 - '97, but I was wondering what you more enlightened guys thought was the best year in terms of overall drivability, performance, road holding, comforts, and durability. Any help would be great. Thanks, Ian

They are all good..
Just remember cost, vehicle history, and that the 1997 came with a couple more ponies and a five speed automatic. I personally would get a 97. I love the C36......
Good luck, Shaun |

If you really to have a car you can "grow" with and mod, then I would go for C43.
Donnie of MB Autowerks, dropped in a E55 AMG engine with a Kleeman supercharger, Maybach throttle-body, and some custom programming, and hit the low 10's in the 1/4-mile. I believe can install a Kleeman on the stock C43 and hit the low 12's. Otherwise, get the last year (1997) 5-speed and more HP/torque with ME EFI. :-) neil 1988 360TE AMG 1993 500E |
