If you come by a low mileage 500E for sale, please contact me

My email is Louis_2098@yahoo.com I see a lot of 100,000 mile cars for sale but want something a bit less beat on.

Talking Hey fadMeister get outa my sales pitch

do you work for Hatch or what! At least give him the website.

http://www.hatchandsons.com

jeez, I have not visited them for a while - they have wall-to-wall W124's in stock and not many newer ones. That kinda tells one what their buyer thinks of the current and last generation E class.

Yeah I know what yer thinkin! So why would I sell my P&J.

Here is the skinny - The S6 is a stock 340 horse/314 torque wagon which is about the same as the E500 that sits next to it in my stable. For 12K, I can add a bolt-on Twin Turbo and Porsche front brakes to the S6 raising it to RS6 status-450 horse/414 Torque without modifying anything else on the vehicle. To elevate the Benz, I would have to do irreversible RennTech style mods to achieve the same result - not worth the investment.

Tom

PS - Hatch has not changed - he is still askin megabucks for the 4 E500s he has as well as the rest of the 124's on his lot.

nice more- power thoughts Tom

Perhaps if I worked for hatch I'd have fatter bonus checks these days ...and I'd surely take that E500 off your hands!

Sorry to snipe-in on your sales pitch- - I was thinkin you weren't serious about selling that car of yours

....I imagine that there are more buyers looking for a #1 cond/quality E500's than there are #1 cond/ quality E500's! (Japan is one area that lusts after top 124.036's)

Good luck and best regards

It will be a tough decision when/if the time comes. I do feel more confident in the Benz on the long runs from Milton to Wallingford CT(really only time I use it) There is a stretch on Rt 84 running from Sturbridge to Hartford where one can sustain 100 mph average for 10 - 15 minute clips. The Benz just hunkers down into the grove with the tires (Michelin directionals) making more noise than the engine/exhaust. On the same run, The S6 sort of bounces around a bit in the lane being buffeted by the wind and with all the aluminum parts is lighter than the Benz. I don't feel that confident maintaining 100+. I would lower it if it were my personal car to see if that would solve the problem but my wife will notice that mod and for the time being, it is her car. She is not allowed to drive the Benz(The S6 already has a coupla dings on the flared fenders-she does not spend the time looking for the "perfect" parking spot like most women-Shanta excluded of course;-^)

Anyway, I am rambling - you speak Japanese?

negative on speaking Japanese....but I think Scott does!

Sounds like you have a nice Audi to thrill you

I've tossed the idea of getting rid of my E500 since I'm a naughty boy each and every time its out of the garage....naturally I take the consequences- no problemo

...perhaps I can ripen into appreciating the car well within its performance??? without triple digit speed sessions?

fwiw- I spied a '92 Pearl Black/ Back 500e this evening in downtown SF (outside lot)...70k miles, e-codes, and pretty beat up: sagging front air dam, cracked interior wood panels, faded black leather, scratches and dings in the finish...and a yellow Colorado State sticker on the front window...it was nice to see a daily driver!

hope you are well
