If anyone happens to know of a nice 500E/E500 for sale in Northern California please drop me a line. I've finally sold my 6.3 (its headed back to Germany for a restoration!) and am ready to purchase a 500E/E500. Thanks for the help!

Sorry to here you sold your 6.3L, but hopefully it is going to be restored nicely and will be going to a good home.

When shopping for a W124 500, don't limit yourself to just NorCal. You'll find great examples in Texas ... lot's of money in the early 90's brought many to that State. Do check eBay (I bought mine through eBay) and Auto Trader.

Though the 124.036 was made from 1992 to 1994, I'd lean towards a well maintained '92. Do some research and you'll know why (assuming you don't know about the differences).

I've driven past this Indy several times and was impressed with the selection and quality.

Try to take your time, and be choosy. The market is very soft at the moment.

What's the price range and mileage range you've targeted?

If you're after the best of the best, lowest mileage, full overmaintained documented records, no accidents, 100% mechanical, etc.- - you're definitely in for an ownership treat! I'd think that $39k would get this type of vehicle into your hands...

Who did you sell your 6.3 to?

You are looking at a good $35K+ for a truly excellent, low-miles E500-500E. They are out there, but you have to work hard to find them.

There are always a few up for sale. Buy carefully. I recently got mine up in Marin County. I know of a couple for sale here in Portland (OR) as well.

Thank you for your reply's! I purchased a car this evening and will probably pick it up next week. I had actually looked at it about 9 months ago, but was still trying to sell the 6.3. It came up for sale again, and well, I could'nt resist this time. It has just under 100k mi., but has been maintained well and is a nice stock driver. Pretty much what I was looking for. Hopefully there are no hidden suprises! Thanks again for the advice, I really appreciate it!
