Question 6.9 into a 300CD: Is it possible?

I just have to know, is this conversion even possible, and if so, can it use the 300CD transmission?

I know this has gotta be out of this world expensive, but has anybody ever seen this done?

I know it's been done with GM engines. Anyone seen kits for this conversion?

Thanks

Gil

I am pretty sure that AMG stuffed the 5.0L V-8 into the 123 chassis. You might have to do some serious mods to fit the 6.9 in there but I think the 5.0 (from 500SEC) or the 5.6 motor would fit?

This would be an awesome hot rod

Euro 300hp 5.6L V8 in the 300CD Make sure you mate the right transmission and rear end though.

When my diesel engine gives up, IM going to put a 500Euro coupled to a stick shift, with 327 limited slip gears, until I can rebuild my diesel engine, but when its done again back to diesel, I will think I am going backwards. Maybe I should find a 280CE and do that to it, then I could have a winter car. The diesel in the winter sucks.

AMG put in the DOHC m117 engine into a w123, so Im sure a 6.9 would fit, but I think that a 500Euro M117 has more power than the 6.9, at least parts are way cheaper.

500Euro with 560 heads, that would be nice.

Isn't the 6.9 liter V8 based upon the M100 block, which is a physically longer (wider too?) block than the M117 or M119 blocks?

http://www.m-100.org/6point9/brochure/engine/index.html

I'm not saying it can't be done, but it will most likely require tearing down the existing firewall and rebuilding it like Satish did to fit the M119 V8 into his W126 SEC coupe, as well as a tranny tunnel "dilation procedure".

That's ok, too.

It wouldn't have to be a 6.9, but any V8 would be fine, especially if I could swing it with an MB motor. Anybody know if AMG or anyone else makes a kit?

Where'd you see this conversion?

Thanks to all.
