Curcio Switch Installation (DIY-ASR Defeat)
Installation Questions...
Steps Taken so far.... Located a couple mounting points behind Airbag/under dash. Lift weather seal from rear hood area near CAN Remove small plastic cover (2 hangers-just lift) Opened CAN (4 5mm allen socket heads) Removed all Modules Locate pins 25,35,37 on ASR module. Remove 4 socket head screws along lower edge of CAN body. The seem to be 4mm but almost a bit larger (not quite 4.5mm) Remove 2 10mm bolts and 2 5mm socket screws holding CAN to plate towards front of car. Remove large rubber hose from driver's side of CAN. climate controls (A/C - Heat from cabin) One lower right side, one on lower left. Remove 2 phillips screws holding diagnostic plug in CAN. Flip lever on wiring harness connector behind CAN. Seperate wiring connectors. Remove single 5mm allen head socket screw on lower wiring connector. Slide connector 10mm toward center of the car and remove from bracket. Remove 2 x 10mm bolts from bracket to release CAN. Will post pics as I find time to tear into things a bit more.

Illumination Instructions For Curcio's Switch
These instructions appear courtesy of the guy that did my install (Benny).
1. hook up the bottom pin of the asr switch directly to ground. 2. hook up middle pin to the asr relay 3. hook up the top pin to the illumination circuit from the rear dome light switch |

Note: when putting things back together connect bottom screws, then front screws and finally the bracket at the back....that is slotted and needs to be done last.

Ran the relay wire into the engine from the cabin. Mounted the relay with a ziptie as I didn't find a good place to mount it with screws. The switch is wired for illumination....Thanks to Shanta!
I mounted it in the fader switch position. Now, if I only had a driver's seat.... Bergwerks, FGS module is going in next.

diy asr defeat
I have used Bryan 's instructions which gave me the confidence to start, but I have ran into a problem, and would appreciate some help. I can not find a lever on the wiring harness connector behind the CAN. Can someone tell me how to get the wiring connector off? There are some small screws on the track that the connectors are fasten too, but I don't see how that will help in sliding the connector toward center of the car and removing it. So close but yet so far from being done. Thanks for any suggestions, my wife is wanting be to quit and start on a kitchen project, HELP Dairel

Do you have a 92?
I think you need to pull the screws.
The connector on my car has a lever that makes it very easy to connect/disconnect.
