500E shocks on a regular W124 - Possible???

Hello friends,

Is it possible to fit 500E shocks and springs onto a regular W124? My car is now slammed which I do not like. Using thicker spring pads did not help. So am thinking about using replacing with stock parts and the 500E shocks and springs came to my mind. Input much appreciated.

Yes, the front struts bolt on (gear EARLY 500E struts, a little stiffer), and all four springs work as well. However, unless your W124 has self-levelling suspension, I would not go with 500E springs in the rear, perhaps SportLine rear springs and shocks in the rear.

You could do SportLine front & rear, which would be more sportier/stiffer than 500E, but still not slammed.

Thanks for the input Neil. Do you happen to know what size spring pads were used on the factory sportline cars? I kinda like the factory stance.

Thanks once again.

No idea. Depends on your options. I would do 2-bumps in front, and 3-bumps in the rear.
