Hi, I have a 1986 560sl and I would like to clean out the throttle.The problem is I can not get the throttle body off. I have remove all mounting bolts, gas lines , injector lines and it it still will not come off. Any suggestion would greatly be appreciated.

First, why do you want to remove the throttle body? Second, yes all of the air-flow parts must be removed, including the fuel distributor. Time required; approx. 1.8 hrs. for a trained M.B. tech.

Removal of the throttle body can be a tough job. There is special band type clamp that secures the rubber boot to the throttle body. Be careful not to damage the clamp. Also there will be fuel leaking so be very careful!!! Not really a job for a DIYer.
