500e fuel pressure regulator/damper leak

Anyone have issues with what appears to be the fuel pressure regulator (may be a damper) leaking on '93 500e's?

I noticed a very slight gas smell and after removing the airbox noticed that the top surface of the regulator on the left rear of the engine was weeping. I haven't had time to pluck it off yet, but I figured I'd check to see if it was a common problem and if there is a special fix or retrofit. Thanks.

Andy

fuel press reg.

Andy That is a common problem. Repl it if you didn't already. The easy thing to do is pull off the vacuum hose going to it. If gas drips out repl. It can giver you hard start isssue cold or hot. Its not safe,it will start eating into the rubber hose corroding it.

Thanks!

Guido,
Thanks for the reply. I will replace the regulator when my new one arrives. Fortunately it has not caused any problems other than a slight gas smell! Happy New Year!
