how can i tell if car has bilsteens shock
hi. well just bought this 300e with 200k miles,that corners very flat and has a firm ride.this is my first mercedes, very nice car that appears to have been very well maintained. (red coolant,german battery,almost every thing works ,even ac.
but it rides very firm,almost no bounce. and corners as good as an old porshe i had. does not appear lowered and shocks are a black with no marks i can see. maybe some one can tell me the color of bilsteen sports or how to tell which shocks if has thank you |

It being your first Mercedes, you might be experiencing what we all love about the car.
If the car is not lowered, it is unlikely that the Bil sports (yellow tube body) are installed, since they were designed to handle the shorter stroke length that lowering springs work with. Bilstein made Comfort (slightly better than OEM Sach/Boge) and HD (valved for firmer than OEM, usually used if you've got the Sportline suspension option, or have typically heavy payloads). |
