Quasi-LSD: Keep ASR but stop it cutting power
Am I right in thinking a 500E has no Limited Slip Differential?
As I remember, I'm pretty sure that the ASR applies brakes to a slipping wheel to transfer power to the other, then on top of that, if necessary, it will cut engine power. So would the quickest way to get off the line be to still have the braking, i.e. an LSD effect, but without ever cutting engine power? Can this be done, or would the effect be too slow compared to an LSD.. or would you toast the brakes too easily? Also, how do LSD cars handle compared to non?

You are correct that the 500E (and almost all MB's) do not have a limited slip diff. As to the other questions, I'm not sure, but I'd be curious what the effect would be...
