H&R Springs

I saw a set of new H&R Springs for the 500E on e-bay that says that they are for "non SLS set-up". I thought that you could use the H&R springs with the self leveling shocks...?

Can someone explain this to me pls.?

Thanks.

Thomas, I have the H&R lowering springs on my E500. They only required that the rear SLS be adjusted to the lower spring height. Also camber....but that's another topic.

Those springs are not the corect part number for our cars - they are for a non-SLS euro 500E, which I'm not even sure was ever made. I bought my springs from that very same dealer, and they are assuredly not the same as the ones for a US 500E500.

I just purchased a set of these 500e springs for my 400e
part # 30230 . I called H&R springs to get some info on these springs. The person I talked to said he believed the part # was used over 7 years ago and was not used in the USA applications and that he did not have any info on these springs. I paid $40 for a set of 4 . My reasoning
is that the 500E springs would have a stiffer rate than the 400e springs and so the 500E H&R sports springs would have a stiffer rate then the 400E H&R springs . IF someone with more info on this subject wishes to set me straight or confirm my thoughts please feel free to left me know. Again this 400E is going to be a track car with little use on the street. I am also planning to go drag racing next week to see if this car can turn a sub 14 second 1/4 mile.

I have a set of these on my 500e. They've only been on it for about a month, because I've been busy with other projects.
I removed the rear hydraulic struts and put a pair of bilstein sport shocks for a 400e on the rear.

I have koni adjustables up front.
The springs lowered the front end a hair over an inch, but the rear actually sat higher about 3/4 of an inch with the original spring pads.
Before making any changes, I decided to drive the car a few hundred miles to see if they would settle, but the rear was still too high.

I ended up removing the rear spring pads completely, and the rear now sits about 1/2 of an inch lower than when it was stock.

Handliong on the street seems OK, but I can't really comment until I gewt it back to the track where I can really use the car.

I have a set of the proper H&R springs for a US spec 500E with the SLS, if anyone is interested in their purchase.

I bought my springs for the 500SEC from http://www.tirerack.com at a few people's suggestion.

I don't know what year your car is, but they do stock H&R springs at a fairly reasonable price.
