Changed fmous R16 in 190E2.3

Hello all.
I have found what I suppose is the famous R16 resistor in my 190E 2.3 (1992). If I am not wrong, the setting is that number that faces to the front of the car (horizontally).
I have checked this and the setting was about 900 ohms (the lower resistance value), corresponding to the "7" position.

I have measured the other resistances, and as you decrease the number marked in the case, the resistance increases. The "1" corresponds to about 12 KOhms.
Does this sound to anybody?

I have changed the setting to "1" and run a few turns and I must say that I haven't noticed anything, but will see in a road trip.

Has anyone changed the value? Was was the original one in this model, also "7"?

I am running 95 octane fuel, in Spain.

Any comments on this issue will be very appreciated.

Sergio
