Hi,
I have been thinking about redoing my 240d, new engine etc etc the whole bit. Dont really care if its Diesel anymore, just want something along the lines of a project car. Any suggestions to what engines would fit it? I dont really want to change my transmission but thats comprable... thanks ------------------ DVC1 |

Oh yea, I've seen some exterior stuff available from www.autobahnint.com, looks pretty cool, but the engine and everything is more important.

For the sake of originality, I would keep it a 240D.

I agree with Benzmac. If the body's good, then invest in a rebuilt engine from Metric Motors or the like. I vowed that if the engine in my 300SD ever blows up, I will be on the phone with Metric first thing and order a brand new longblock---and run Red Line Diesel Catalyst in it from the get-go. Also would only trust Castrol GTX 10W-40 as far as oil goes. ------------------ Rgds, Aaron Greenberg MB technician '67 250SE Cabriolet '77 450SL '79 6.9 '79 6.9 '80 300SD '81 240D '85 380SE '89 420SEL '93 300E 2.8 |
