Hi,
I have been thinking about redoing my 240d, new engine etc etc the whole bit. Dont really care if its Diesel anymore, just want something along the lines of a project car. Any suggestions to what engines would fit it? I dont really want to change my transmission but thats comprable...
thanks

Oh yea, I've seen some exterior stuff available from www.autobahnint.com, looks pretty cool, but the engine and everything is more important.

For the sake of originality, I would keep it a 240D.

I agree with Benzmac. If the body's good, then invest in a rebuilt engine from Metric Motors or the like. I vowed that if the engine in my 300SD ever blows up, I will be on the phone with Metric first thing and order a brand new longblock---and run Red Line Diesel Catalyst in it from the get-go. Also would only trust Castrol GTX 10W-40 as far as oil goes.
