I just look through MBUSA, and there's no more C43?? I thought C43 is a 1998, and as MB stated, it should be over 3 year period before all the C43s for USA are delivered?? Why there's no C43 on the site?? Does it mean C43s for USA are all sold out??
http://www.mbusa.com P.S. ML55 AMG looks really nice....fully loaded, too. Only Factory option is cell phone. ML55 has GPS standard, and has a 5" LCD screen on the dash... ------------------

akry,
Without digging into it deeply yet I'd guess that they have not fully updated their site to 2000 models info. Then again, the replacement for the W202 isn't far off...but the C230K and C280 are still listed for Y2K. Maybe supply is a problem with AMG busy with other models? (E55, ML55, upcoming V12 creation, etc) I wouldn't worry yet...if it never shows up on the website and you can't get one from your local dealership then I'd count them as gone. Hope this helps...Lee |

The 2000 C43 and the CL500 are probably on the boats as we speak. Available around Dec 99/Jan 2000. If 2000 is the very last year for the W202 then I would hope that AMG & MBZ are adding something special to the last model year for the C43.
Maybe the COMAND system will be standard. It should be standard in all V-8 and AMG models. It is standard in the ML55 and even the ML430. The next version C-Class AMG will probably appear as a 2002 model for the new chassis. |

Lee,
V12 creations huh?? Interesting....MB just release CL-Class coupes, and AMG's working on V12s already?? Hehe, they are fast.... P.S. CL-Class may reach North America as early as mid-December... Can't wait... Happy Motoring... Andy Kuo ------------------

Brian/akry,
The "V12 creation" I speak of is the rumored factory hot-rod version of the upcoming twin-plug/3-valve V12. Displacment of approx 7+ liter displacement monster for probably the new SL and perhaps even the CL. Can't wait to see if A) that makes it to full production for under BIG bucks and B) we can legally have it here in the US. As far as the "already" part goes, guess there is a benefit to AMG being part of MB, they get access to the hardware and tech faster than anyone else. Should be interesting....Lee |
