Angry Hazrad Light Problem.

I have an 85 380SL with the following problem. The flashers don't flash when the hazard switch is activated. Here's what happens - the hazard light lights up but no lights flash. The turn signal switch starts a buzzing sound. If I activate a turn signal by moving the turn switch lever to one side or the other the buzzung stops and the light blinks. Any ideas on this one? Could the 'flasher' be the problem? Anyone know how to locate the flasher and test it out? Thanks for any help.

Twochaps,

Replace the hazard switch and you'll be back in good shape

Perry;
Thanks, I hope it is as simple as you say. By the way, how in the devil does one pull those switches out of the console? Does it take a special MB tool?

Twochaps,

actually no special tools are required,, first remove the ashtray by opening and pressing down as to remove it to empty ashes or gum wrappers... second , once ash tray is removed , there are two phillips screws under ash tray/ remove these, then take fingers and push wood panel back toward you * do not try to pull up on it yet * the lower panel will slip back about one half inch, then you may pull on the rear easily/there is a guide pin at the rear / once you have cleared that, pick up panel and push out hazard switch with your fingers and disconnect. A new switch should cost no more than $24.00

Should you need help with the Sl , don"t hesitate to let me know, I have repaired , modified , improved and replaced just about everything on mine. Regards, Perry SLBENZ1@AOL.COM
