***** Removing this breather hose.
I had no answers on the "Tech" forum so I guess I will try here.
Well I just finished removing and replacing my rock hard breather hoses (see photo) with new ones but I cannot figure out how to remove the last hose by the MAS meter. If it is an easy job, let me know. And if you want to replace your breather hoses, REMEMBER TO BUY THE CONNECTORS !!! I forgot to get them and I spent about 30 minutes prying the old hoses off of them. By replacing these breather hoses, what improvements should I expect, if any. Also as I was examining other hoses, hose # 1 (see photo) is rock hard as well. What is hose #1 and is it easy to replace? If somebody can also let me know what hoses #2 and #3 are, it would be appreciated.

Anyone know?
Going twice on this one, does anyone know about removing this breather hose?
Thanks in advance.

Boudreaux, can you tell from the new hose if there is a groove or anything that might hold it on? It might just be "cooked" on, and hardened as you mentioned the other hoses are. Sometimes it's easist to cut a slit in the hose to peel it off the component without putting too much stress on the component. I have no experience on that engine/model, but if the hoses are crankcase ventilation hoses, it depends on whether engine vaccum is used to pull the crankcase fumes as far as whether you will be able to tell any difference with the new hoses installed.

From what I can tell, the hose moves side to side but my concern is I don't know how far down it goes into the engine. It is a very tight space with the Mass Air Sensor (the silver canister thingy) in the way that if I remove the hose, I don't know if I will have enough room to push the new hose back onto the fitting. Also I don't know what is the part number for that hose.
All of the old hoses were rock hard and brittle. My next project will be to inspect and replace the oil bridges underneath the valve covers.

removing hoses how to do it
take out the mass flow sensor assembly. Gotta get room to get to the things. Hose #2 is definitely a high pressure fuel line. Can't tell from photo about 1&2- they might be fuel return lines?
