Instrument Cluster Disassembly?

Apparently, it is possible to completely disassemble the earlier 107 instrument clusters. The clear plastic can be removed (but is not available as a separate part, apparently). Does anyone know how or if the newer (560) clusters can be disassembled? How?

Also, can the older, easily removed front plastic piece (in front of the glass) be interchanged with the newer piece? They look subtly different. And ideas appreciated.
