Part for Jack Hole Plugs?

Can anyone confirm that part # 124-997-04-86 are the rubber boots that cover the jack holes in a 107?

I am getting this information from the K&K catalog (listed as "Plug, Rear Rail, $3.19 in the frame and floor section). It sure looks like one. 3 out of the 4 are missing on my SLC, and the one that is isn't completely intact.

I was planning on an order from them for assorted other parts and would put this in the order.

Steve

plugs

i can definately tell you that the 124-997-04-86 is not applicable to the model 107. i did a part number search in the mercedes epc and the number only applies to 124 model cars.
from my research it looks like the ones you need are 107-637-00-13
let me know if this helps

Thanks carson - actually armed with that information, I think I'll just head over to the dealer and put in an order for those. Then I know I can look at them in person if they have them in stock.

Right church, wrong pew

The local dealer parts guy says that part is for "a metal washer that goes around the side of the rocker" and offers 113-984-00-44 as a possible replacement. This is getting more and more interesting. Imagine if this was a $500 part.

Also from his email, there are apparently different diameters for the jack holes, either 1 1/4" or 1 1/8" and I have to measure (which I will).

But when you get an answer like "There are at least 50 rubber plugs in various locations on the car, so a # would help", I might have to check some other sources. At least I can email him.

Part for Jack Hole Plugs?

Hi appears from the "Good Book" Baumuster W107 the part is a "Druckknopf" translated "button", to us a "Bung" or large Grommet. with a current part number of 000 9888 7681 for all SL's priced at .50EU. The part for the slc's is 000 988 5581 and they are .17EU, must be smaller "Druckknopfs" The only Knopfler I know of was the lead vocalist for Dire Straits! Perhaps there is a message in that. Hope that helps or just more "bung" advice.

000 988 76 81 is a fastener button for the moulding. There are 14 of them used on a 560SL. Personally, I've never seen a 107 with plugs in the jack holes, but that's hardly overwhelming evidence.

113 984 00 44 doesn't show up in my EPC for any model.
