1992 300se Advice
I found a 1992 300SE with 75000 miles for 9000, Its a one owner and in excellent condition. I have a 1990 with 95,000 miles on it but want to update. Im woundering if the 92/93 are just as easy to fix and reliable as the older models 91 and older. Any advice would be great.

The 92 is the W140, do a search on that model and you will find a lot of information. The most common problems with those cars are the Evap Core, which is a $3000 job to repair. Make sure that has been done. It is a fabulous car and a lot of car for the money. The systems are very complicated, but overall the mechanicals are simple as other models. The radio amps usually go out too, so check that out. Overall is a great car! Happy Benzing!

Check the A/C. If you can get the service records see if the evap. core has been replaced/worked on. If it has I would not hesitate to buy it. Keep in mind that with these vehicles many of the electrical items are complicated but much better quality than the later models (not necessarily more reliable). Basically, these cars are over-engineered - a lot of car for the money.

You in the wrong forum for an SE. The SL forum is just a bunch of over-sexed beach boys. You'd get a better response in Tech Help.
