Synthetic Oil Weight?

Well, after reading the replies to my questions regarding synthetic oils, I have decided to use Mobil 1. Pardon my ignorance, but in all the owners information that came with the car, I have yet to find the recommended weight. According to the sticker on the windshield, when the oil was changed last fall the dealership put in 10W30.

I will be using this car mainly in the warm weather months. Is this the best weight?

Probably OK for M-1 10/30, but for summer, I would 15/50 M-1, my humble opinion.

Synthetic Oil for MB

Actually, Mobil 1 does not do the best job of controling wear in the valve train with rocker arms. There will be wear on the tip pads and thickness shims.

You can add a can of BG Motor Oil Additive (MOA) which contains a dose of zink dialkyl-dithiophosphate (ZDDP) which is the best antiwear additive for this 'sliding, boundary lubrication' application.
