107 Idle adjustment screw?
Recently re-soldered my Idle Control Unit, which seems to have corrected my high idle. Prior to this, a mechanic made a ("slight") adjustment to the idle - thinking this would fix the high idle (against my advice).
Now with the high idle no longer surging, there appears to be a very slight stumble in the idle (I'm striving for perfection  . I'm thinking its due to this mechanic's adjustment and would like to return it to where it was previously. (Could be vacuum hose, but I've checked repeatedly).Can someone please post a picture of the idle adjustment screw? I know its somewhere beneath air filter, but dont wanna start turning the wrong screws. Thanks. Ragtopper 1982 380SL

It's not an idle adjustment screw, it's the base mixture adjustment screw that you are talking about. You access it through the hole in the air cleaner.
The adjustment needs to be made with a dwell or voltage meter. There are many posts on how to do this.

Have just ordered re-mfg Idle Control Unit (Programa $156) and will install later this week.
Next up will be to try and get base mixture back to where it was before mechanic started monkeying around with it. (exhaust smelling very different now). May take it to someone who knows how to use a dwell meter (I have no idea). Should I assume that most independent MB shops will have a dwell meter and know how to use it? Ragtopper 1982 380SL

I thought I did too.
Ran good for about 3 weeks - then started idling high again, but not as bad as before. Unplugged ICU and no change to idle, so I figured I'd break down and buy one. Hopefully this is the fix cuz I dont wanna be tinkering with this thing anymore since ragtop season is approaching.... Ragtopper 1982 380SL

stumped
Just rec'd and installed new ICU. Idle still around 1000. Removed ICU and idle dropped and staggered. Out of curiousity, I also plugged in OLD ICU and same thing happened (!!). Turned engine off.
Came back 10 minutes later and restarted with new ICU - idle still around 1200. Unplugged new ICU and NO CHANGE in idle. Plugged ICU back in, and unplugged power to Control Valve - NO CHANGE in idle. (Also unplugged OVP relay - no change in idle). I'm losing it. Ideas? Ragtopper 1982 380SL
