Need Recommendation! Been trying to get help on this for 2 years.
 

Well Guys/Gals I apologize for posting this here, but I have placed a similar rendition on Shop Sites and other spots on this site over the last 2 years.

Here is what I am looking for:

A Very Good Convertible Top Installer for my 560 SL.
A Very Good Upholstery person to do my seats on the 560SL. (Leather Replacement)

Now, I live in Northern Baltimore County 10 miles North of Baltimore City. I will drive the car to Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Northern Virginia and as far South as Richmond, Va to get a quality job.

I may even consider other areas within a days drive.

If anyone can make a sound recommendation for this work, please let me know! This is a hard response to get from the site and by posting any good places we could perhaps help others.

Call Performance Products in CA and ask them to send you a 560SL specific catalog. They sell the correct Leather colors and MexTex (if what you have) as well as the German Canvas top replacement material.

If you can replace a sofa cushion cover, you can do the seats yourself and save a bundle. They also sell the horsehair replacement cushions, visor replacements as well as the door panels, console, dash cover, rugs, mats, etc. should you decide to go all out and do a total refurb.

If you have reasonable mechanical skills, you could also replace the top yourself. I did it on a 1985 380 SL that I owned many moons back.

Stopped there today. Seems he has a nice set up and apparently knows what he is talking about.

He is gonna do my top on Thursday next. $800 Not bad.

Depending on the top job I'll see what he can do about my seats.
