Both Window Switches Faulty?

Ever have both window switches go bad simultaneously on a 560SL? Looks like mine just did. First they won't open together, and now they won't close together. What else could it be?

It is quite unlikely, but not impossible, that both switches would fail at the same time. But I don't understand the "together" part of your question. Do the windows work OK if you just operate one at a time? I have a 129 and on that model there is a seperate fuse for each window motor. So, I've had one window fail while the other continues to function. The window switches operate in conjuntion with the top controller. That is, the switches close relays in the controller; they don't go directly to the window motors.

Each switch, individually became very stubborn requiring several pushes before operating. During the same trip, both switches stopped working, individually and together. Unless both switches feed into the same relay, it just seems odd that both would malfunction at the same time. I'm picking up a pair of new switches today for $70 at a local MB parts supplier. Hopefully that is the problem.
