How to adjust idle speed for a 380SL
My SL idles at an indicated 500 rpms. Now, it's been 14 years since I have owned a V-8, but that seems rather low.

Actually, Rick... the last time I checked, 500 was on the money... If the idle is a bit rough at 500, then you have either spark or mixture concerns...
If it is "sewing machine" smooth, enjoy!

Genarally it is super smooth, but ocassionally there is a miss. The thing that amazes me is how quite it runs at idle. Someone the other day commented on how quite it was, you can hardly tell it was running. Again, I haven't driven a V-8 since my Camaro, so I don't rember if that V-8 ran this smooth.
