107 Fuel Sender Removal Tools

Just in case you don't have a 46mm socket and need to remove your fuel, sender, here is a solution: large vise-grips and a crescent wrench. You clamp the vise-grips on the large hex nut and turn it with the wrench. A shot of PB Blaster also helps.

Good tip Chuck but I couldnt get it to work when I tried a couple of months ago. Ended up forking out for the socket - about $20 aussie dollars for a socket I'm not likely to use again any time soon! But it was the only option - that sender unit was locked in tight! Now of course I still need to find a replacement sender - getting tired of guessing the fuel level.

I borrowed a 3/4" drive 1-13/16" socket and an extension to do the job. The sender shouldn't be too tight but after a number of years it can get fused on. Good luck

I just replaced all the vapor lines, return line rubber, gas cap and sender gasket. About $25 in parts and two hours. No more gas smell, thank the lord.
