Window trim lifts when windows are raised

When I close (raise) the door windows on my 92 300SL, the weather stripping "grabs" the window and pulls the chrome trim up and out of its seat. The driver side is worse than the passenger, but they both do it. I've tried bending the metal tabs that hold the trim piece, but they still get pulled out. Is there a product out there that you can apply to the weather strip to make the glass glide over it better? Teflon or something?

I have had the very same problem - on the drivers door as well. I'd have to push it back down almost daily. It seems, though, that after a recent 90K service, the seal has remained seated. I wonder if the dealer did something? Anyone else have this issue?

Sounds to me like your windows are out of adjustment. It is likely the regulator arm is pushing up the moulding from underneath. The dealer probably adjusted it. If you need instructions on adjustment let me know. The Windows are adjusted to fit the hard top and then the soft top is adjusted to fit the windows. Good luck

Brian,
Please give us the info on window adjustment. Actually adjusting the soft top really is what I am interested in! Either way, I will take all the info you can dish out. Thanks.
