Missing SL hard top part

SL hard top help:

I'm looking for someone who might have an extra 107 SL hard top rear lock cap. It's the chrome part that you insert the handles into to secure your hard top to the body. This cap is on the rear part of the hard top near the seat belt assembly. The part is actually on the hard top. The Mercedes part # is 107 795 0373. I was wondering if someone has a spare that they might like to sell. Any help finding one, or advise would be appreciated.

These show up on eBay occasionally. There have been a few in the last few weeks. As you've probably discovered, they aren't cheap.

Not a hard top, only need a part from one

I posted this looking for the chrome part that resides on the hardtop. I do not need a complete hard top. The part # is a mercedes number. The cost is roughly $60-80.00. That is why I'm looking for a used one, or one off an old hardtop that is no longer in use.

Thanks for looking at this post and responding.

I understood perfectly... And there are some of the caps that you insert the handle into for sale on Ebay now... You just gotta search and spend a bit of time looking... Seems like they were 20sumting dollars at last I looked. Ran across them while searching for other items.

Here is the auction number for the complete lock mechanisms for a 107 hardtop. I know this is not exactly what you were looking for, but it was found easily enough.

Thanks for checking further on ebay

I looked at the item on auction, they are close to what I need but not exactly. I only need one chrome cap. I did look on ebay, but did not search this part out. These are close to what I need. I will continue to look further. Might contact that seller and ask if they have other misc. parts.

Thanks for your reply.

Hardtop Lock Down

There is a brand new one on E-Bay. Check Item No, 8018830365.
"Mercedes SL Removable Hardtop Rear Holddown NEW OE". Ends in one day 16 hrs and counting down. Hope that helps.

Thanks for keeping an eye

I actually found the missing part this past weekend while cleaning and getting ready for the winter months. It has fallen off while on hard top storage cart. I did look while back and could not locate it. I appreciate your help and for keeping an eye out. I should have posted over the w/end when I found it.

I was getting the snow blower ready and had to use it already to top it off.

Thanks...you folks are great.
