Glad to see this new forum since we now have a '79 450SL with 98K miles. I'd like to find out more about this car at this age/mileage. What maintenance should be done at 100K? Are there any other preventative maintenance I should be considering?

This is not an easy one to answer definitively in a forum such as this, as the scope would cover several "pages". However, the best answer I can give you is to purchase a publication from M-B North America called "Maintenance Manual USA Model Year 1972-1980, Passenger Cars, Volume 1".

The book code is KD 00 113 2601 63 - (483) 1288 2.0

This is a factory "service manual" covering all routine maintenance jobs for various models, including the 107044. The jobs are given standard numbers that are referred to on the service frequency charts contained in the manual.

The manual measures around 11.75" x 8.25" x 0.75", and is quite comprehensive. Useful information whether or not you do your own routine servicing.
