wonky SL turn signals

driving along today, all systems normal, when I switched right turn signal on. Rightside Dash indicator flashed once, then went out, as leftside indicator began flashing.........

checked this several times, couple times BOTh indicator lites would flash once before the left one remained the only dash indicator flashing. This is with the TS switched for right turn.

Checked outside car and found the Left side Turn signals (front and rear) were the ones flashing in either switch position.

Checked the hazard (4 way) flashers and ALL lamps work normally.

I'm guessing the turn signal switch inside the steering column is where the problem is located, will try a can of contact cleaner in there later.

Anybody ever seen this problem before?

Thanks,

Mike Kelly
