722.6 Transmission

There seems to be an issue being discussed in the tech help with the 722.6 transmission, 1999 and earlier, its about delayed engagement of gears, I find it to be interesting, they point to this part outline in this web site.

Early replacement is recomended by the techs. I thought I'll pass it along.May help, may not; but worth reading:

Please repost the link as it's incorrect.

Thanks

Thumbs up Transmission 300SL

I posted several 'help' issues in regards to my transmission not shifting into reverse. Then I found all sorts of information and valve body issues AND then I saw what was being charged for the "rebuilt" transmissions and FLIPPED!!
Some prices were $6750.00 WOW!! (This was half the value of the car?) After mulling over this awhile I descided to try AAMCO Transmission.... just a phone call to see if these people knew anything about Mercedes and I was talked into bringing the car there for a free evaluation. The guy said this transmission is one that Ford adopted and they are familiar with it. They refused to "chase after valve body issues and all that sort of thing" and will completely rebuild it PLUS replace the torque convertor for $2100.50. This will include a complete valve body repair kit, new clutches and what ever else it needs. It is guaranteed to operate correctly and is warranteed Nation wide!!
I would like to post this in all the correct places to give everyone that news and the chance to make an alternative choice. I sincerely thank everyone for their help on this matter and thought I would share this, only I can't seem to find my way back to those places on this web-site to share that news.
