Smile How to get to Steering gear adjustment?

Hello all,
I want to adjust the steering gearbox on my '79 450SL. The problem is - how do you reach the allen screw and nut? I've had the car up on the rack to check for bottom clearance, don't see a way to get to it from the bottom, and from the top it appears that the only way is to remove the manifold... has anyone "been there"? I'd appreciate some instructions!

Thanks,

I've adjusted one on a 560SL. Found enough room (barely) to get my hand and a wrench to the adjustment from the bottom side. Used stubby allen and hex wrenches. It's tight but doable. Just have to find the right angle of approach.
