R129 Antenna mast
My antenna mast does not go all the way down. Common problem. I ordered a new antenna mast, part number A 140 827 0001. I checked the number on my EPC, on Alldatadiy and on the dealer's computer and that is the right number. Yet what I have received is completely different to what is on the car. On the car is a five-section all-metal mast with "h4" on the top--Hirschmann, I assume. This new part is only three sections, two metal and the top one black plastic.
Is this right?

Don't know about the 129's, but got one for the 400E a while back and it was almost completely different than the original one. The dealer said it was a new design and it worked just fine.

I ordered the generic one off of fastlane, and it worked... For a month. Then the gears started to wear out from age, and now it has stopped all together. Yes, the new one was different, but it worked fine. I am going to try and see if I can pop it out this weekend and get all of the #'s I need. I would think that it would work. I would call the dealer and see if any changes were made.

Dealer changed the part. EPC showed three section metal and plastic mast part no. 140 827 00 01 at a cost of GBP64.44 + tax. This is apparently incorrect. The correct Hirschmann like-for-like replacement is B6 6 82 8037 at GBP17.42 + tax. That is the first time I've ever had a refund from the dealer! Actually, they were very good, they fitted it free of charge in the freezing rain.

As I say, my Hirschman was 20quid too ;-)
Your dealer should have asked which letter it had on the top....H gives the game away somewhat! ;-) Glad about the refund...
