Does anyone know of a source for an Ignition Control Module for 92 500SL. May be an unusual request, but I will compensate or pay for the use of a borrowed module to see if this is the problem with the auto. The mechanic working on the auto thinks this part is defective and causing the trouble$$$$$

You may be able to buy a 'used' one?? When mine died, I got a replacement using the "PartTrackers" network for $225 via a NYC junk yard. Still running strong today. Check out MENU#5 on my MB pages.
