500Sl Euro Windshield

Well, out cruising around Fri night, top down, (heater on) and I hear this DINK. I'm like what was that Look around the windshield, all is well I figure what ever it was, bounced off and no harm done.....WRONG. Got up Sun morn, backed the car out of the garage, looked down and right under the wipers here is a stone chip and a crack running up. I was a happy camper I'll tell you.

Anyway does anyone know if the 380SL and the 500SL windshields in 1984 or any other mid 80s year are the same? I did a search and didn't find anything.

I think they are all the same. There may have been a different composition over the years and DOT approveal didn't take place on the Euro cars but I think the glass will fit in all the SLs. MHO

Before I inherited my car, my grandfather repalced the windshield with one from a 380SL.... I beleived he did use the same year.
